The 3 days Uganda birding safari takes you to Semuliki National park a true birding haven for birders. The Park has over 450 bird species and including the Queen turaco, dwarf honey guide, kivu ground thrush, barred long-tailed cuckoo, collared apalis, red-faced woodland, strange weaver, and many more. The Sempaya hot springs found in Semuliki national park are one of the most gorgeous springs in Uganda. It has incredible temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Celsius. The Sempaya hot springs are made of a male hot spring and a female hot spring which are seen in two separate parts of the park. The spring’s area divulges the mangabey monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and the black and white colobus monkey. The female hot spring is just 30 minutes from the male spring. The female hot spring is so hot that tourists boil bananas and eggs in it. Nearer to the hot spring, you can traverse some of the Batwa community villages and explore their lifestyle.

Trip Itinerary

Our safari guide/driver will meet you at the airport or pick you up from your hotel, and transfer you to Fort portal. You will have a stopover in Mubende for quick snacks, and refreshments. Continue to Fort Portal for Lunch. You will go to the lodge and relax for the rest of the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

You will have breakfast at 6:30 am. Head out for a guided forest walk to spot numerous birds such as great blue turaco, hoopoe, herons, open bill ibis, hadada ibis, kingfishers, sunbird bee-eaters, Dwarf Hornbill, maxwell's black swallow, swamp palm bulbul, bill stock, red-eyed puff back and many more. You will also have a chance to see some primates during the nature walk. These include monkeys and baboons. You have a trail tour to Sempaya Hot springs, both female and male hot springs. The historical hot springs have a boiling point of 100 degrees. You will boil some eggs and enjoy them during the activity. You will later go back to the lodge for dinner, and an overnight stay.

You will have breakfast at 6:30 am. Start your journey back to Entebbe international airport to catch your flight to the next destination or drop you at your hotel.
