Travel from Kampala to Murchison

Depending on your flight arrival in Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Kampala or if you are already staying the night before in Kampala, Terrace Uganda Safaris and Tours will set out as early as you desire and find convenient. However, please note that the travel to Murchison Falls National Park will take about four to five hours, so if you leave early in the morning, there will be a good chance for you to have an afternoon picnic at the top of the falls. The later you depart, the later you will arrive. You will be driven towards the northwest route via Masindi town where you can have lunch. You will pass by the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary along the way. The sanctuary has 15 resident southern white rhinos and it is the only place in Uganda where there are still wild rhinos. Then, later in the evening after your quick visit to the falls, you can check in at your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Game drive and boat trip

This activity will entail you to start very early in the day. So, you should take a cup of tea or coffee to warm yourself up. You will leave for the ferry crossing to the north bank by 06:30. Please don’t worry because a full breakfast will be served as you return to your accommodation after the game drive activity. The early morning start will give you the opportunity to see predators returning to their hideouts. This will also show you animals like Jackson’s hartebeests, lions, herds of buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffe, waterbucks, elephants, and other animals. You will pass between the Victoria and Albert Niles to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta in which this is part of the Buligi game tracks. This adventure will take about four hours. It will finish at about 11:00 and then you will head back to your accommodation to take some rest and lunch before starting with the next activity in the itinerary. Boat trip You will take a scenic boat ride along the Victoria Nile which is part of the catchment of water under the falls. From this view, the falls will look very majestic. This will also be the chance when you can have close encounters with basking hippos by the Nile bank and the chance to see the huge Nile crocodiles.

Chimpanzee tracking and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve where you will able to do chimpanzee tracking. The chimpanzee sounds reverberate through the whole forest. You can see the chimps in their natural habitat. The view is fantastic and the wildlife is very diverse and lush. The chimps share 98 percent of their DNA with humans. It will be a very interesting and unique interaction. After the chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest Reserve, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park and have lunch in Fort Portal which will be along the way. When you reach Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check in to your accommodation at Baboon Safari Lodge, have dinner, and get some rest for the night to prepare for the next adventure.


Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have packed breakfast then go for a game drive through the Kasenyi plains at 6:30 am. It is at sunrise that there is the biggest chance to see lions, hyenas, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and antelopes. You will have breakfast during the game drive. After that, you will return to your accommodation for lunch after which, you will go to the Mweya Peninsula for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. There will be a plentiful wildlife along the banks. There will also be a good chance for you to see buffaloes, elephants, birds, and hippopotamuses at a closer look. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and get well-deserved rest after this action-packed day of adventure.


Sunrise drive Lake Katwe and drive back to Kampala

Sunrise drive Lake Katwe and drive back to Kampala

You will have an early breakfast then travel to Lake Katwe salt mining lake where you will find the community guide who will be able to explain to you the salt mining and processing procedures, history of the lake and formation process. You will have lunch in Fort Portal on the drive back to Kampala. Terrace Uganda Safaris will take you either to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) if you are catching a flight or to your respective hotel in Kampala if you will still be spending the night
