Day to Day itinerary Details
Your safari begins the moment you land at Entebbe International Airport, situated on the lush shores of Lake Victoria – the world’s second-largest freshwater lake and the source of the mighty Nile River. As you step off the plane, you will immediately feel the warmth and vibrancy of Uganda. Our representative will meet and greet you at the arrival hall and drive from Entebbe to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you will meet with the safari guide/driver and be transferred north out of Kampala, through the fertile farmlands and rolling hills of central Uganda, before descending into the wide savannah corridor that leads to the country’s largest national park. The road passes through several market towns -including Luwero and Nakasongola, where you may glimpse everyday Ugandan life in vivid, unfiltered detail. Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife conservation projects. Accompanied by trained armed rangers, you will embark on a guided walk through the sanctuary’s open grasslands. Because rhinos are tracked on foot – not from a vehicle – this is one of the most intimate wildlife encounters available in Africa. You can approach to within 10–15 metres of these magnificent creatures, observing their social interactions, feeding habits, and surprisingly gentle nature at close range. The sanctuary is also an excellent birding stop: over 300 bird species have been recorded here, including the iconic Shoebill Stork in nearby papyrus swamps. Lunch is taken at the sanctuary’s lodge before you continue north. You will later continue to the park, arrive at the lodge for check-in, and have an overnight stay.

Rise before dawn to make the most of the golden morning light, the best time for wildlife photography. After an early breakfast, you will head out for a game drive, you may encounter: lions resting on termite mounds in the early heat, large herds of Rothschild’s giraffe (one of the rarest giraffe subspecies in the world), elephants moving in family groups toward the river, enormous Cape buffalo herds, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kob (Uganda’s national animal), oribi, and the occasional leopard draped over a tree branch. After approximately three hours of game driving, return to the lodge for a relaxed lunch. In the afternoon, board a motorised boat for a two-to-three-hour cruise upstream along the Victoria Nile from Paraa to the base of Murchison Falls. This is widely considered one of the best wildlife boat experiences in Africa. The riverbanks teem with enormous Nile crocodiles, pods of hippopotamuses lolling in the shallows, African fish eagles calling from overhanging branches, and flocks of colorful bee-eaters, kingfishers, herons, and African skimmers. As the boat approaches the falls, the roar grows deafening, and the river narrows dramatically. The sight of the Nile being compressed into that impossibly narrow gorge, viewed from water level, is completely different from the top -and equally astonishing. Look carefully at the cliffs on either side: elephants, buffalo, and even lions have been spotted drinking right at the water’s edge along this stretch.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge. You will visit the top of the falls, a short walk leads to the “Top of the Falls,” where the entire force of the Victoria Nile is compressed through a seven-metre-wide rock cliff, plunging forty-three metres below in a thunderous cascade of white water and mist – one of the most spectacular natural sights in Africa. Take photos, then start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, with lunch en route.
